A man who was declared to be wanted by the police was among four men who were arrested on Thursday in a police operation in Long Wall, Stony Hill, St Andrew.

Reports are that about 10:30 a.m., a team of police personnel went to the area and during a search, the four men were taken into custody.

Three of the men who were held are from West Kingston addresses, and the other is from a St Thomas address.

The police said the men are being questioned in relation to several major crimes that were committed in the Kingston Western Police Division and other areas.

The identities of the men have been withheld by the police.

A few hours after the operation in Stony Hill, a police team went to Matthews Lane in West Kingston, where a search revealed a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with one 9mm cartridge, which was seized.

No one was arrested in connection with the find.
